Ordained clergy, clergy seeking ordination, theological students, members of religious orders and qualified lay persons.
Program features for Basic CPE Unit ( Level I )
This is a 400 hours accredited training with the following five curriculum elements:
1. Pastoral Field Work ( 70% )
The development of pastoral care skills through actual provision of pastoral care to person in need.
2. Didactic / Lecture ( 12% )
The acquisition of theoretical knowledge in the shaping of effective pastoral care and competency.
3. Clinical Seminars ( 6% )
An objective examination and analytical understanding of real-case presentation.
4. Integrational Peer Group Clinic ( 6% )
The development of group life dynamics and leadership for personal and professional formation. It covers essentials in the art of conversation and intense listening as a way of developing peer relationships.
5. Individual Supervision ( 6% )
A personal supervisor will be assigned for individual guidance and meeting.
Program Scheduling:
This runs over a period of seven months. Class sessions are usually held fortnightly on weekdays from 9am till 5pm.
Program Cost:
The course fee is approximately RM1,200** for the whole program. Fee includes all relevant course materials and documents but excludes transportation, accommodation and food.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, the intern will be awarded a certificate for one unit of CPE issued jointly by
